Thursday May 31st!

This morning we worked on symmetry and double-digit subtraction.

We wrote sentence starters.

We listened to The White House on CD.

We finished the Magic Tree House book Lions at Lunchtime.

We are going to GYM then Lunch.

After Lunch we are going to Jiji then playing a math game with money.

They will go to 2nd recess.

We will watch a brain pop of fossils and learn about dinosaurs and answer questions.

We will end the day with each of the students interviewing another student in the class and turning it into a biography.

HW: STUDY FOR WHITE HOUSE TEST AND READ A SNAILS PACE. THERE ARE A FEW QUESTIONS FROM THAT TOO!

OUR PARTY IS AT 2 TOMORROW! PLEASE COME!

THE ART FAIR IS AFTER SCHOOL TOMORROW AT 3:30.

Wednesday May 30th!

This morning we had a special parent (Ali’s Mom) come and teach us Yoga on the roof. It was so great and we all loved it! Thank you!

We  came back and finished our morning work and they are now writing their last anthology story entitled: Bats At Night

When they finish we are going to read a few Frog and Toad Stories and talk about how they are similar and different.

We will then do a Brain Pop on Frogs and then write a fact and opinion about frogs.

They will go to Lunch then Music.

When they return we will work on math (Fraction Concepts and review)

They will go to 2nd recess.

We will end the day putting together our Anthology books (making a table of contents, making a cover, writing page numbers, etc.)

HW: Answer questions for The White House Story (pg 70) #1-4 and Write about it and Math worksheet!

Tuesday May 29th!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you had a safe and fun Memorial Day Weekend!

This morning they went to Spanish. When they came back we wrote another story for their Anthology Book.

We watched a Brain Pop on Presidents and George Washington. We will complete a poem when later today.

They are now at lunch and then we are going to Jiji.

After Jiji we will finish our poem and work on math and making change.

They will go to 2nd recess. When they return we will read our new story entitled The White House.

We will end the day with a read aloud and D.E.A.R. time.

We will not have a spelling test this week because of the short week.

HW: Read The White House, practice math facts, money, and time, and read for 20 minutes!

FRIDAY IS THE ROUND THE OWL ART FAIR! IS IT FROM 3;15 TO 7! BE SURE TO COME!

Thursday May 24th!

Good Morning Everyone!

This morning we worked on the beginning ch and ending ch sounds as well as double-digit addition.

We did sentence starters. We did morning meeting and read a time for Kids entitled “From the Farm To You”.

They are now at Gym and then will go to Lunch.

We will go to Jiji after Lunch and then work on math.

They will go to 2nd recess and we will end the day with Centers and a Read Aloud.

HW: Study for Reading and Spelling Test, practice math facts, reads for 20 minutes, and enjoy the amazing weather!

TOMORROW IS A HALF DAY. PICK UP IS AT 12. THERE IS NO SCHOOL MONDAY!

Wednesday Mar 22nd!

This morning we worked on double-digit addition and word problems.

We wrote another story to go into our anthology book entitled “Pigs in a Tree”

We read a story about different types of homes.

We watched Starfall about Greek Mythology Stories

We worked on math.

They are at lunch and when they return they have Music.

After Music we will be watching a few Brain Pops

They will go to 2nd recess.

When they return we will listen to the CD of Homes.

We will end the day with “Teacher of the Week”. I have a book from the beginning of the year and I am looking forward to have one for the end of the year!

HW: Read Homes and answer questions on pg 31. (#1-4 and Write About It), Symmetry Math Worksheet

Tuesday May 22nd!

Good morning everyone!

This morning they are in Spanish. When they return they will finish their morning work and we will begin sentence starters.

We will be watching a Brain Pop on telling time and one of their choice. We will be reading a Time for Kids about our National Parks.

They will go to Lunch. When they return we will go to Jiji. We will then work on math. We will be discussing symmetrical shapes. I will then do a read aloud.

We will end the day with Centers.

HW: Read for 20 minutes, math worksheet, New Story: Homes

Monday May 21st!

Happy Monday Everyone!

This morning we worked on counting money and then wrote another story entitled “Beaver City”

They are now in Health. When they return we will be doing Adventure to Fitness and a read aloud.

They will go to Lunch and then they have Library.

When they return we will be working on math.

They will go to 2nd recess and when they return we will be reading their new story about Homes Around The World.

HW: Study Spelling Words, Practice Math Facts, Read for 20 minutes

 

Thursday May 17th!

I hope everyone is having a great so far!

This morning we worked on synonyms and double-digit addition.

They are now working on a new story entitled “A ______ Day At The Park!”

We are going tot listen to Plants That Eat Animals on CD and talk about it.

They will go to Gym then Lunch.

After Lunch we will go to Jiji and then work on math. (fractions and multiplication)

They will have 2nd recess and we will end the day with centers!

HW: Study for spelling and reading test, baggy book, practice math ideas that I gave to you!

 

FRIDAY IS THE FIELD TRIP! PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU CAN CHAPERONE. WE ARE LEAVING TOMORROW AROUND 9:30 ISH!

Tuesday May 15th!

This morning they have Spanish.

When they return they will work on their morning work that includes subtraction and phonics (short and long vowels)

We will do another writing to go in their Anthology book.

We will do some math working with naming shapes and talking about sides and corners.

They will go to Lunch.

When they return we will go to Jiji.

We will do a Brain Pop on Synonyms and Antonyms. We will be reading the next Magic Treehouse book called Lions at Lunchtime.

They will go to 2nd recess and then we will end the day with centers.

We are going on a walking field trip to Lincoln Park Zoo and I need as many parent volunteers as possible. Bring your other children, aunts, uncles, anyone who would love to spend the day at the zoo with us.
