Wednesday December 21st!

This morning they uncsrambled Christmas words and then wrote a story.

We then did sentence starters.

We went to the gym and watched all of the grades perform. It was great!

They are now at lunch.

When they return we will finish sentence starters and then we will read a holiday poem.

We will do phonics and then walk down for the parent performance.

You are welcome to come up to the class when it is over.

HW: Get books together for our Read-A-Thon tomorrow!

 

TOMORROW IS A HALF DAY AND WE ARE OUT AT 12. WE HAVE NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday December 20th!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

This morning they had Spanish.

They are now working on sentence starters.

We will be doing phonics next learning the “ce”, “cy”, and the “ci” sound and spelling.

We will go to lunch and then go to Jiji.

After Jiji we are starting a new math unit on MEASUREMENT.

After 2nd recess we will read a Time For Kids, do an activity, and finish the day writing a poem as a class.

HW: First Reader and worksheet!

Monday December 19th!

This morning they are doing a word search for winter words.

They are then going to write stories.

They have health and then we will do phonics assessment.

LUNCH then Library

After Library we will do Student of the Week and then we will end the day going to a Performance rehearsal and making invitations for their performance on Wednesday at 2.

HW: Choose a book from home, read it with your son/daughter and fill out Character Worksheet.

We have a half-day on Thursday and NO SCHOOL on Friday!

Friday December 16th!

Happy Friday Everyone!

This morning they worked on addition and capitalization.

We then took the Spelling Test (grades are in Gradebook) and wrote stories using sentence starters.

We did phonics in the back and worked on the long “I” sound. They then read a phonics review book with a partner and underlined or circled all of the patterns we have been working on.

They went to lunch and are now in Art.

After art we are going to write a poem as a class and then they will get to write one on their own.

They will go to 2nd recess and then we will end the day making rain sticks and an invitation for you to attend our Winter Concert that will be next WEDNESDAY at 2:00. I hope you all can make it!

I put their math test in their HW side. Please review it with your son or daughter.

Thursday December 15th!

This morning we will being with morning work and then sentence starters.

We will then do a phonics review.

They will go to gym then lunch.

After lunch we will go to Jiji and then learn about two more seasons and the weather that is associated with each.

They will then go to second recess and then we will end the day with centers.

HW: Read Baggy book and fill out worksheet. If your son/daughter has a chapter book for BB, please have then read the chapter they are assigned and then choose another book to complete the worksheet.

Wednesday December 14th!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

This morning we worked on subtraction and nouns.

I then introduced a rubric for them to use for sentence starters to make sure they are checking their writing and doing their best work everyday.

They did sentence starters and then I had them work with a partner and check each others work using the rubric.

We then read a TFK about Winter Animals.

They went to lunch and then had Music.

After Music, they took their math test. I was checking over them and it looks like they did really well. I will finish grading them tomorrow and grades will be posted after school tomorrow.

They then spent 2nd recess in here because of the rain.

 

After 2nd recess we read a book about Spring and added information about it to our chart.

We finished the day with a read aloud.

HW: NO OFFICIAL HW tonight! They have been working so hard, they deserve a break. If however you would like to work with them, read a book together, practice math flash cards, or study spelling words.

TOMORROW IS THE HOLIDAY BIZARRE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO DO A LITTLE SHOPPING AND PURCHASE SOMETHING, PLEASE SEND A FEW DOLLARS WITH THEM TOMORROW!

This morning they are in Spanish.

When they return they will finish their morning work and they will write with sentence starters.

After sentence starters we will work on phonics. We are learning patterns for the “Long A” sounds and spellings.

They will then go to lunch.

When they return we will go to Jiji, then work on centers and I will work with reading groups.

After 2nd recess we will read a book about winter and talk about the signs of winter coming.

We will finish the day with a read aloud.

HW: Baggy Books and study for math test tomorrow!

Good Morning!

They are now working on their morning work with subtraction and nouns.

They will go to Health/Gym with Mr. F.

We will then to phonics.

After Phonics they will go to lunch and then Library.

We will do Student of the Week and then they have 2nd recess.

We will finish the day with a weather activity and a read aloud.

Friday Decemebr 9th!

This morning they worked on ending marks and subtracting using their number line.

We then did sentence starters.

They had their Spelling Test.

Next we did phonics.

After phonics we read a Time For Kids about doing good deeds and what a charity is.

They then went to lunch, they are now in Art.

After art we will finish making the Weather Books they started on Wednesday.

They will have 2nd recess.

After 2nd recess I will do a read aloud and then we will read a poem about weather and work on visualizing.

We will end the day with a quick clean up of their desks!
